What Can/Should I Do? (Company Part 2)

Policy and Procedures. Pretty much means what to do and how you can do it. Terms of the company better explained.

They should point out the companies approved ways of advertising, when and where you are allowed to sell the products and any other rules that they have concerning their procedures. If you do not understand something ask for it to be explained so that you stay on the safe side.

How to collect and pay for orders. For face to face sales most companies have you collect the monies and then buy from them at a discount with you keeping your profit. An example would be you selling a $10 product and collecting that along with the shipping and handling. You would then order from the company paying $8 and shipping and handling keeping the $2 as your profit. That would be with a 20% commission. Each company set the commissions that you will make.

Some companies (the smaller ones it seems) have you collect the money, send it in and they pay you at a certain time of the month. This makes no sense to me so I usually shy away from those types of companies. Why do they need my $2 (or any other amount of commission) for up to 30 days and doesn't that give them more paperwork? That is just my personal opinion.

How you are paid. It used to be by check but more and  more companies are offering direct deposit and even PayPal! I love that magic when money appears in my accounts!

When you are paid. Most companies pay their consultants once a month on the 15th. I am thinking they picked that date as it would not interfere with their end of the month/beginning of the month accounting. There are companies out there that pay twice a month on the 1st and the 15th but as it stands right now they are few and far between.

Be aware that there usually rules on how much you have to make before that they will cut a check or pay you. It may be any amount but I have seen anywhere from $10 to $40. If you do not make enough in one month to be paid they hold on to it and add it to the next month's commissions.

Why are they paying you if  you get to keep your profits on face to face sales? Web site sales! When  you are approved you will either be given a web site to use, charged for a web site to use or have a special link for your clients to use. You advertise your link and all sales through that link will give you a commission and when it reaches a large enough amount you get paid. Nice treat for all that hard work.

So... a face to face order can pay you everyday and then payday on one or two days a month. What an awesome life!!
