Places You Will Go (Company Part 3)

Ready for some note taking? Remember if you take them now, you will save yourself time and a lot of frustration, when you do not have to go back and search for the information. Now is also the best time to learn about 'paths'.

Map Your Path!

Just what is a path? Something that is very important that you will probably use everyday. Most people don't even think about making one, let alone using one. This is where you will start  your path from good to better to best!!

Paths are steps that you write down to help you find your way back to the information that you need. Even if you write that information down and do not need to go back... your paths will be used any way!

Simple example (REAL Simple LOL!)  You need to know how much shipping is for a purchase of $49.99. Your path would be: your web site, click on shop now and then select shipping rates. Easy!

I would copy and paste the shipping rate and keep it in  my file so I never had to follow that path again but hang on to it! You will have customers asking for the shipping rates and you will have down-line asking about shipping rates. You will even have other consultants asking about shipping rates and you can lead them right to it!

I know I saw that answer! It was in a drawer!

You will find the information that you need spread out all over the place. No one sets out to make it that way but that is always what happens. You will find the information that you need:

On the company web site/your web site
Most companies have a back office where you can find  more information
Some companies have a separate web site to show your commission
Some companies have a separate web site to train you or for sales information
Many companies have group pages for their consultants with files
As the company grows you may be in a huge group and then a smaller group both with files.
Some groups have forums.
Some groups have all of the above.

You can see why writing down where you found your information becomes important. Writing down a path helps you and helps you help others.

One awesome thing is the files on the groups are usually made by other consultants. They have done work so that you do not have to. You will find a lot of good information in groups. Be sure that it is up to date and if you are not sure? Ask in the group.

You will come to realize, in a pretty short time that the questions are basically the same ones over and over. That is where the Frequently Asked Questions help. You may want to type the question and then the answer. When someone asks? Just copy paste and off you go!!

Some questions that always come up:
How much is shipping and handling?
How come it is so much?
How long will it take for my order to ship?
What happens if I need to return my order?
How long does it take to exchange?
How long does it take to get a refund?
I bet you can think of a lot more depending on the company that you are with!!
Make FAQ's starting with the ones above and include paths to the information for practice. You will realize that it is not that had to get into the habit of.
