Fun With Fundraising

There really is not anything at all HARD about Fundraising that I can think of. And it is one of the best feelings in the world. Getting to help others! If done correctly the organization will not forget you and come back year after year to do it again!

Make sure you have the most up to date fundraising information in your tote. Some companies use the same items year around, some change their fundraisers with the seasons. Be sure to check! Have more than just the flyer as the more information you have the more power you have to make it happen.

You should have a nice introduction letter. When people tell me that they cannot do that I tell them to just sit down, clear their mind and act like they are telling their best friend all about the program. That way you will sound warm and friendly and they will know you want to help them.

Have flyers showing the fundraising products. You cannot sell them what they cannot see. When possible have samples of the fundraisers items. Most companies do not supply this but I have a work around for that. When a fellow consultant is running a fundraiser purchase from her. It will pay off big in the end!

Carry the fundraising contract with you. That way you will be able to get it filled out and sent in if you happen to get to talk to the fundraising director right off the bat! Why waste time?

Carry this stuff in your tote or what ever you have decided to carry your business in. When you run across a car wash, bake sale or a group selling coupon books you will be ready. Having it home in your desk serves no purpose.

Every fundraiser has to have an adult present. Find out if they are the leader. If they are make a quick presentation if they have time. You never know you might have them sign up right there. If it is not the leader get that information and get in touch with them. Be sure to mention you saw their fundraiser and that you participated (if you could and did.) Then let them know how you can help them.
